Een aantal jaar geleden maakte ik kennis met het woord stopwoord. Het was hip om een stopwoordje te hebben en die werd dan ook dagelijks vijftig herhaalt. Als je geen stopwoordje had hoorde je er gewoonweg niet bij. En waarom hebben mensen eigenlijk de drang om een bepaald woord zoveel keer te bebruiken, terwijl onze taal uit zoveel mooie woorden bestaat? Ik zweer bijvoorbeeld bij het woord affectie of superieur, maar een normaal woord als poepen mag er ook zijn.

Een aantal jaar geleden begon een vriendin ermee. Als ik vroeg wat we gingen doen, antwoordde zij steevast met poepen. En deze (irritante) gewoonte heb ik van haar overgenomen. Het woord is nu in mijn dagelijkste vocabulaire opgenomen. Er gaat geen dag voorbij zonder dat ik het woord gebruik. Eén dag niet gepoept is een dag niet geleeft toch? En wat is er nu niet leuker dan samen poepen op een duolet? Doordat ik het woord zo vaak gebruik, heb ik weer een andere vriendin ermee aangestoken. En zo reist het poepsyndroom door heel Nederland.
