Aan alles komt een eind. Maar soms ben ik het daar gewoonweg niet mee eens. Met de zomerstop van De Wereld Draait Door kan ik nog wel leven. En de gedachte dat Matthijs van Nieuwkerk deze zomer eens op zoek gaat naar een fatsoenlijke kapper doet mij deugt. Waar ik echter wel verschrikkelijk van baal, zijn de laatste afleveringen van de seizoenen van Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries en 90210. De CW Television Shows hebben mijn hart jaren geleden gestolen en als ze dan zomaar uit mijn downloadlijst verdwijnen, veroorzaakt dit een groot gat in dat broze, rode en kloppende ding.

Dat gat moe(s)t opgevuld worden. Werd het Hellcats, The Event, The Killing of toch Mad Man? Helaas gaf alleen al het noemen van deze namen mij geen van allen het speciale CW TV-gevoel. Maar toen herinnerde ik mij het eerste – al tijden geleden gedownloade – seizoen van Pretty Little Liars. Volgens vriendinnetje Claudia een must see en beoordeeld met een 8.1 op IMDB. Was deze serie van ABC Family mijn redder in nood? Was dit dé serie waarmee ik mijn verslaving kon voortzetten? Was dit de drama waar ik op zat te wachten? Na 22 afleveringen wil ik het antwoord graag met je delen – en je voelt het al aankomen – ik zeg volmondig en schreeuwend van de daken: Yes. This is it.
